Advanced feed decision training set for June 22 and 23

The South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service will host two training sessions for livestock producers on June 22 and 23.

The training will focus on making advanced feed decisions. The June 22 meeting starts at 6 p.m. Mountain time at the Timber Lake Activity Center, Timber Lake. For information or to register, call (605) 865-3652.

The June 23 meeting starts at 6 p.m. Central time at the 4-H Center in Winner. Call (605) 842-2858 to register or for more information. Sponsors will provide an evening meal at both meetings.

Topics of the meetings include feeding, storage, and management practices involving distillers grains, a discussion of the economic overview of feed costs associated with livestock, pricing decisions of alternative feedstuffs, and local producer experiences feeding co-products.

Dakotaland Feeds, Fort Dodge Animal Health, the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service are sponsoring the meetings.
