A South Dakota State University winter wheat variety trial tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. on June 24 in Kennebec.

The date of the event was recently changed. The tour location is at the South Dakota Wheat Growers parking lot in Kennebec.

On June 22, another winter wheat variety trial tour begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Jorgensen farm near Ideal.

Details and directions to both events are available at this link: http://sdces.sdstate.edu/Lyman/6-4-2009.htm.

Both tours give producers the chance to compare a wide range of winter wheat varieties. SDSU and South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station scientists, along with educators and specialists from the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service, will host the events.

For more information on either winter wheat variety trial, call South Dakota Cooperative Extension Agronomy Educator Bob Fanning at (605) 869-2226.
