Avoiding too much sugar and salt will help keep your body in shape, but when it comes to staying mentally healthy, sometimes it's easy to get lost.
The June 25 "On Call" program will address the idea of general mental health, and the show's medical editor Dr. Rick Holm and program producer and host Tami Watson will help viewers answer questions on getting mentally healthy and staying in that happy place.
Guests include Dr. Catherine Leadabrand, an internal medicine physician with the Brown Clinic in Watertown, and Dr.Robert Giebink, a psychiatrist with the Human Service Agency in Watertown.
"What does it take to be happy? Once we reach adulthood, perhaps all of us ask that question at one time or another," said Watson. "This show will help viewers better understand the factors that influence happiness."
"On Call" airs Thursdays on South Dakota Public Broadcasting-Television at 7 p.m. Central, 6 p.m. Mountain. "On Call" is a weekly program about health produced by the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service.
During the live broadcast, viewers can call 1-888-DrOnCall (1-888-376-6225) with their questions about general mental health. Viewers also can e-mail their questions in advance of the broadcast by visiting the "On Call" Web site at http://oncall.sdstate.org/.
