Even a health-conscious, intelligent person might not know how the gallbladder works in the human body.
The July 9 "On Call®" program will explain not only what the gallbladder does, but also conditions that mimic gallbladder disease, along with treatment options and symptoms.
Medical editor Dr. Rick Holm and program producer and host Tami Watson will have guests Dr. Chan Park, a general surgeon from Avera Brookings Medical Clinic, and Dr. Robert Summerer of Eastern Plains Surgical, part of the Madison Community Hospital.
Watson said the two surgeons will answer viewers questions and help those who might not know the difference between indigestion and something more serious.
"We are glad to have two surgeons on the July 9 program as their expertise will give us plenty of information with which to help viewers," Watson said. "The gallbladder and diseases that affect it are important topics that too often are not understood by many people."
